We finally got it right. We tried a rectange table and it just didn’t work. Now we have new square table with plenty of shelves — perfect.

Potter Birch Frew brought us some new work the other day. He said that he had made six sets of wall plates and four had exploded in the kiln. That’s something to keep in mind with wood workers, potters, glass artists, really any artist — for each piece that comes out looking fantastic, usually about 30% are ruined. Being an artist is hard work.

I went to Meltdown at Pittsburgh Glass Center on Saturday night. It was a circus themed event and they had strange circus inspired food, like shrimp wrapped in cotton candy and cold mashed potatoes in ice cream cones with gravy, lobster jello — really terrible. There was a dessert called a dum-dum that was caramel, chocolate, and salt–yum!
Anyway, I met a fantastic glass artist named Jason Amstutz who gave me a bunch of pieces for the gallery. We seatbelted them into my car and they looked so pretty back there picking up all the glow of the street lights. Come check them out

Here you go girl. The Bizza Bags that we have in stock. I’ll try to post the new ones as soon as we get them. (The little picture is of my bag, it’s soooo cool.)

Check out these cool bugs Don Jones brought in today.

What can I say, the Steelers won and so we had to make some art about it. Here’s a brand new piece by Bob Mahoney. The craftsmanship on the stained glass is amazing, not like the cheap plastic ones at the mall. This is art baby. He went out there and gave it 110%, I think we have a good chance of going all the way with this. Go team!

I could talk about how First Friday was cancelled due to a foul weather forecast, but what’s done is done. A bunch of the artists (Ceres Rangos, Donna Kearns, Scott Hunter, Chris Rohrbach, Marlene Boyle, and Phyllis Kindler) showed up and we had fun anyway, drinking Hurricane Drinks and talking about great art.
On to important news, Suri Cruise is real (what a shock). This was the headline when I turned on the computer today, who cares. I mean there are important things going on in this world, like Project Runway is on tonight — now that’s news.
Our friend Phyllis Kindler brought us a few new pieces, I’ll try to get some decent photos of them but my camera just won’t do them justice. You’ll just have to come in and see them in person.
