I have been planning to have the Pittsburgh Santarchy (our friends in Detroit started the Detroit Santarchy), and then today I found this. Does anyone know if this is going to happen this year, I haven’t found any updates.
Nevermind, I just found this
I just found out about this new group in Mt. Lebanon which might be worth checking out.

Mention this ad and say “I still believe” and get 5% off a one-of-a-kind lamp.
Well, Saturday morning should be the big Halloween Parade on Washington Rd here in Mt. Lebanon. We have loads and loads of candy to hand out. Now they are predicting rain and possible cancellation, we’ll see.
I’m originally from Detroit and just have to say — go Tigers, the next three games are yours!

Here are a bunch of pictures from the weekend’s event. “Autumn’s Harvest, woven gourds by Ceres Rangos and pinch pots by Marlene Boyle” and “Gold Leaf, an afternoon of poetry”.
The Steelers were robbed, the lamp stays!
We sold a bushel, but we still have a good harvest of gourds and pinch pots, come check them out.
Thanks again to Rebecca Closson for playing at “Gold Leaf”, wonderful, wonderful!

This is Ceres’s “Self Portrait”. Ha, I love it!
Artist reception for Autumn’s Harvest is Saturday Night 6-9pm.
I haven’t been keeping up on the blog as well as I should for a few reasons. The biggest being that Greg and I are falling apart. We’re too young to feel this darn old. Greg sprained his calf (the doctor actually said “pulled the muscle away from the bone” which I told Greg might be better served with bar-b-que sauce), and I had a nasty virus that actually put me in the hosipital for a day, yuck. Now, I’m healthy, but Greg is still in pain and wants to spend all his time at the gallery so that he doesn’t have to chase the boys around, which is why I haven’t had time to blog.
The painting above is Scott Hunter’s “Chessbriar 3″ and I’ll be surprised if it isn’t gone by the end of the week, people are crazy about it. It really is so full of energy, I love it.
We are preparing for the “Autumn’s Harvest” show this Saturday night and the poetry reading on Sunday. We have had lots of responses about the reading, I hope we have enough space.

Uptown Shops Mt. Lebanon PTA Night
Sponsored by the Shops and Restaurants on Washington Road
Uptown Mt. Lebanon
Monday, October 16 from 5-8 pm
Come eat and shop at participating businesses and they will give 10% of profits back to the Mt. Lebanon PTA to be distributed to the 10 district schools. Look for signs on business doors to see if they are a part of “PTA Night” or stop in Planet Art Gallery to get a list of participating businesses.
Businesses include:
Support your school, support local business, support our community. We have 5436 students, if we can average $55 per student that will amount to almost $3000 per school! So have dinner, do a little holiday shopping, have dessert and coffee, relax.

Saturday night was a big success. Scott sold two abstract paintings and people are streaming in to see the remaining 20 paintings and 17 collages. Even if you aren’t in the market for art, it’s worth it to come in just to view the pieces – they really are fantastic.
Swedish studies show that viewing and talking about art makes you live longer. I should live a very long time.
