Chris Botti at Heinz Hall

Here it is.  The best picture we have of Chris at Heinz Hall.  They gave me a media pass for this!  Let me just say, it’s hard to take a good shot of a moving object (or person) with a cheap digital camera after having a few glasses of wine.  We had a wonderful time.  Scott Hunter and his wife, Molly, met us here at the gallery and we all had dinner at Bistro 19 (very nice).  We got to Heinz Hall and found that the Botti camp had not only given me free tickets, but also Scott and Molly –  another reason Botti Rocks.

Now I have to get to work on the tour report to send off and we are going to see if we have any decent video for YouTube.

B-Sides party was saturday night, it was FANTASTIC.  We still have a lot of B-Sides left, but they are going fast.  The sale runs to Feb. 3.

Tonight is the big Chris Botti concert.  We have the camera and video camera, we are going to try to make a YouTube video.  My friend, Molly, is actually bringing the camera, I think I’ll put her in charge of video and I’ll take old fashion pictures.  This will be our first YouTube experience, I hope we can figure out how to upload it.  Molly says if a 14-year-old can do it, we can do it.  I think any 14-year-old knows way more than I do about all things computer, maybe I can hire a 14-year-old to post it for me, hmm.

Planet Art will close at 5:00 tonight instead of 8:00.

Pittsburgh is a cool art destination

Let it be known that Pittsburgh is a great art town by voting for us here. Vote only for Pittsburgh in the medium size city catagory or the other votes will work against us.

Thanks to Lindsay at I Heart Pittsburgh for bringing this to my attention.

Ron Nigro ART

Altered reconfigured technology, in other words computers turned into fine art. Here is one of the works that will be in our February 10 show here at the gallery by Ronald Nigro.  Isn’t it sweet, a heart just in time for Valentines day, what a cool gift this would make.

Cool Tiles by Karen Howell

Frog Tile by Karen HowellDuck Soap DishCat Candle HolderHolly Kitty

Here are some great tiles that Karen Howell brought for B-Sides, they are all half-off regular price.  Karen stopped by yesterday with her husband, Barry, she brought 98 tiles that have little issues.  Some are so slight I couldn’t figure out what they were, I set three aside for myself.  The light green perfectly matches my bathroom tile, so I’m going to hang a little grouping.

Check out the detail on that frog, nice.

Little Miss Sunshine

We rented Little Miss Sunshine the other night, and I’m still thinking about it.  If you haven’t seen this movie you should.  It is really good.  There is one scene that doesn’t work, but the rest of it was darn near perfect to me.  I was laughing out loud, which is kind of unusual for me.

Dreampots

Sandy is writing a blog about her life and making pottery, this could be interesting.  She is suppose to come within the next few weeks and bring lots of new, cool pottery.  She said she may even have some things for the B-Sides show, I’d like to see a Sandy Miller B-Side, I bet they’re awesome.

So, I just won two tickets to see Chris Botti at Heinz Hall on January 18. I’m so excited. I’m going to be the tour reporter for Pittsburgh. I better make sure I have a battery for my camera. We’ll have to close up the gallery early that night so that I can take Greg since he’s a better writer than me. I shouldn’t say he’s better– I’m more interesting, he’s more exact. I’ll report more and post some pictures after the show.

“B-Sides: artist’s experiments and seconds” is coming up soon. People are so excited about this event — artists and customers. People want to know exactly when we will start selling. I had thought in the evening when we have the unveiling, now I think frist thing Saturday morning. I’ll set it up early, before we open. See you then if not before.

Here’s a Scott Hunter B-side, I LOVE IT!!
