John Hinderliter is cool. He must be, everybody knows him. I’m not kidding, it’s like six degrees with Kevin Bacon, anyone can trace themselves back to Hinderliter. He bikes, he snowshoes, he’s an illustrator, he teaces at La Roche, he goes geocaching (or whatever you call that), he runs and dashes, what else, oh yeah, he paints.
I bet he’s painting right now, fresh art will be here Saturday Night 6-9pm. I like this party ’cause John is bringing beer and wine — that means I just show up with an empty glass! Join us.
Last night Sky Bank hosted a wine tasting at Planet Art. It was a good turn out, around 70 people, and I didn’t have to do a thing. Palate Partners (check out their logo, it was designed by our friend Giuseppe) brought the wine, John from Sky brought the food, all I had to do was show up and look cute (easy). I was hoping their might be some wine and cheese leftover, but no such luck. I guess it’s a granola bar for lunch again today.
I’m already gearing up for the next event which is John Hinderliter’s show, good news, he’s bringing beer!
Tonight is the opening of A.R.T. Ron will be here to answer any questions. I have a few — some of the technology has me stumped, some lady told me one part was from a tractor. ?? I have a lot of people asking me “what is this from, what is this from”. All I can say is “technology”. Really, who cares, it looks sweet!
Greg’s at the gallery now and says he’s been busy today with men coming in to get their wives jewelry for Valentine’s. Hmm, I wonder what Greg will get me, maybe a trip to somewhere warm and sunny without the kids… I can dream.

Today is the last day of B-sides. I thought because of the freezing weather that nobody would come in today, but actually I was pretty busy.
But the end of B-Sides means that Monday morning I have to clear all the shelves, get the artists to come get there stuff, and redo everything. Sounds like a lot of work. I’m also expecting Ron Nigro soon to bring all his art to set up for his show next weekend.
B-Sides was a success and we will do it again next January.
I wrote a big long post yesterday about the goings on at the gallery and for some reason it messed up the whole site so I had to cancel it.
Anyway, I was reading the paper this morning and saw that Kathy Griffin is coming to the Byham theatre! I’ve got to go, she’s my fav.
B-Sides ends Saturday, if you want a smokin’ deal on art, get in here. I think on Monday Ron is coming with all his A.R.T. for the show next week, this should be fun. His stuff is so funky, computers and other technology reconfigured into fine art. I love that.
