I set up an Etsy site before I left work today. It’s not the best looking site ever, but I wanted to list a few things so that people from out of town will be able to see and buy some of our inventory. Right now it’s mostly melted bottles, but I will add more pieces soon.

This is a cool picture from Rob Strovers.
Funny, I was talking to this couple about Clinton being in town and he tells me he is John McCain. That was the guys name for real! His wife had a John McCain shirt on, it’s good to know she supports him. Now I am just waiting on Obama.
I couldn’t vote in the primary today because I am registered independent. Apparently when I got out of college I registered independent in support of Ross Perot, oy, what was I thinking with that one.
I just received a report form Aileen that Bill Clinton is at Lincoln Elementary school. She said she talked to him and got her picture with him, so maybe I will post those later. In the meantime I am cleaning the front window in case he stops by. I have put the blown glass cupcakes in the front window, I think Bill would like those!

Today I am working on getting all the marketing out for the next show of Rob Strovers photographs. He has some amazing pictures of Pittsburgh and other cool abstract photos. This is the first show we have done of photography. I’ll try to post some of the images from the show soon.

Recycle Artfully!!
Right now we have a great selection of melted bottles. We have slumped and beaded glass bottles by Vi Laux and many of your favorite brand bottles and cheese plate bottles with knives by Greg Mitchell.
If you have a bottle that you want melted, bring it in!

I met a wonderful new artist yesterday named Sher Jacobson. She is the creator of the most beautiful sculpted fine silver pieces and she makes these wire ribbons that are hand hooked. They are extremely intricate and light and, well, amazing. Everytime I meet a new artist and hear about their process I find myself amazed by the time and patience and skill required to craft really fine art.
A young lady came in yesterday who is a great customer and she was picking up a few pieces of pottery and she was telling me how eating food off of a handmade piece makes each bite taste better. She said she would so much prefer to spend $12 to $20 on a handmade plate or bowl then a shirt or shoes, my kind of gal. I couldn’t agree more. When we first got married we asked for a whole set of dishes, most of those are now collecting dust because food just taste better on a real piece of pottery. Just saying…
